GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport student-athletes proved yet again that they get the job done in the classroom. The 20 varsity sports combined for a cumulative 3.32 GPA for the 2017 winter semester, which is .03 better than the 3.29 posted for the fall semester. An incredible 18 teams had a GPA of 3.0 or better for the winter semester.
Tennis posted the highest team GPA of all the men's teams with a 3.61 GPA. They were followed by soccer with a 3.38 GPA, cross country with a 3.35 GPA and golf with a 3.34 GPA.
For the women's teams all nine posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Tennis was the leader of all sports with a 3.63 GPA, they were followed closely by volleyball with a 3.62. The following teams also posted great team GPA's, Cross country with a 3.54 GPA, golf with a 3.52 GPA, soccer with a 3.52 GPA and basketball with a 3.42 GPA.
Overall for the 2016-2017 athletic year Davenport varsity teams combined for a 3.31 GPA. Congratulations to all of our varsity athletic teams for doing such a great job in the class room, keep up the great work.
