That National Women's Lacrosse League (NWLL) announced Wednesday night the 2016 All–Americans and Academic All–Americans at the National Championship Banquet. Redshirt junior
Sydney Gray and Junior
Brooke Knoll represented the Panthers as First Team All-American selections.
Gray (Rockford, Mich.) finished second in the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.79) and was tied for fifth in ground balls per game (3.29). She set the DU single-season record for caused turnovers (39) and the single-game record for caused turnovers (8). Gray has compiled team highs in both caused turnovers (39) and ground balls (46).
Knoll (Castle Rock, Colo.) earned her First Team selection following her junior season in which she was tabbed the WHAC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-WHAC selection. Knoll finished second in the conference in goals per game (4.64) and finished third in points per game (4.79). She totaled 65 goals and two assists on the season while recording a .884 shot on goal percentage.
Hanna Bush,
Jessica Lemcke, and
Mariah Newton each represented Davenport as Second Team All-American recipients following their outstanding seasons in which they each earned First Team All-WHAC honors. Bush (Grand Rapids, Mich.) led the Panthers in scoring on the season with 68 points on 26 goals and 42 assists. She led the WHAC in both total assists (42) and assists per game (3.23). Lemcke (Whitby, Ont.) finished fourth in the WHAC in goals per game (3.50) and sixth in points per game (3.64). She recorded 49 goals and two assists on the season while she also recorded 37 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. Newton (Grand Rapids, Mich.) earned her spot following her season where she led the WHAC in draw controls per game (4.57). Newton totaled 37 ground balls and 20 turnovers as a part of the DU defense that allowed just 95 goals on the season in 14 games (6.78 goals per game).
DU saw three representatives on the Academic All-American team.
Sara Kuzava (Caledonia, Mich.),
Hannah Maroe (Rockford, Mich.) and
Jessica Lemcke (Whitby, Ont.) each earned the honor as juniors or greater of academic standing with a minimum of a 3.60 cumulative grade point average.
