GENEVA, Ohio – The Davenport track & field teams had all of its qualifiers compete Friday as they closed out the second day of the NAIA Indoor Championships, held on the campus of Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
After qualifying to the finals in the women's 4x800 relay, the team of
Stacey Baron,
Kelsee VanderBaan,
Tara Homfeld and
Rachel Jerrils broke the school record again for the second consecutive day as they clocked in 9:22.74 for a sixth-place finish. As part of finishing sixth, the four Lady Panthers have earned a spot in the All-America team.
Alex Blehm joined six of eight Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference athletes in the 400 meter to qualify for the final. Blehm posted a time of 48.97. He will race in the finals Saturday.

Tori Brooks was also in action Friday as the freshman reached as high as 1.98 meters, placing 16
th of 27 competitors.

On the women's relay: “The women followed up yesterday's performance with another incredible performance, breaking the school record again and becoming All-Americans. We could not be more proud of their performance tonight as they ran a tough, gutsy race and took advantage of the opportunity set out in front of them.”
On Alex Blehm: “Alex took take of business today. He got through the prelims and earned a good lane for tomorrow. It will be fun to watch him compete for a national title tomorrow."
