Top Moments of 2011-12 #4: Jason Cogswell's Final Throw of Career Highlights T&F All-Americans

Cogswell earns All-American status on final throw of career and is joined in AA honors by four other teammates

May 24, 2012 - MARION, Ind. – With gorgeous weather as the backdrop on the first day of competition at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Davenport surpassed expectations.  Two student-athletes, Jason Cogswell and Talitha Robertson earned All-American recognition and five participants advanced in their respective events. Cogswell's mark came on the final throw of his career and gave him his first All-American honor of his four years.

Seniors Talitha Robertson and Jason Cogswell both entered their final meet seeded No. 9 in their respective hammer throw.  Robertson's best mark of 48.00m got her through to the finals in the 9th spot.  Her top throw of 50.43m in the finals moved her up to the 7th position earning her All-American status for the second time in her career.

Cogswell had a very similar day.  His best throw of 56.06m put him through to the finals in the 9th and final position.  On his very last throw he reached 57.84m moving him up to 7th.  In addition to earning All-American honors, he set a new school record and personal best.

Davenport had a total of 6 All-Americans in Track & Field in 2011-12 which is a school record for the 5 year old program.
