MCLA DII Top 25 Poll
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The first Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) DII national Top-25 poll was released on Tuesday and the Davenport Panthers remain the No. 1 team in the country. Davenport started the pre-season as the top team and despite a loss to then No. 6 MCLA DI Michigan State, DU collected the most votes.
Davenport received 296 total votes including 10 1st place nods to remain as the No. 1 team in the country for MCLA DII. The Panthers have an overall record of 1-1 after two weeks of play with their win coming against Miami (Ohio) and their loss a 13-12 2OT setback to Michigan State, who was ranked No. 6 in MCLA DI.
The Panthers have been led by the steady play of attackmen
Lyle Parks and
Jordan Richtsmeier who have combined for 13 goals and a pair of assists.
Cody Cross has posted five tallies and
Dominic Boggiano and
Taylor Keyworth each lead the team with four assists.
Davenport is off this weekend and will resume play on March 3 when they open CCLA play against Northern Michigan. That game will be played at the Ultimate Soccer facility in Pontiac where DU has played their first two games of the season already.
