Chris Green Collects 100th Win

After a successful playing career at Davenport, D3 hockey coach Chris Green reached another milestone as he registered his 100th career win as Davenport defeated Robert Morris 11-1. The win gives Green an overall record of 100-49 as the Panthers coach.

In just his fourth year as head coach Chris Green has registered his 100th career win. In his first three years of coaching, Green has led the Panthers to back to back appearances at the ACHA Division III tournament and claimed the programs first ever MCHC Tournament title in 2010-11.

Greens first win as a coach came on September 26, 2008 in a 7-3 victory over Jackson Community College.  A year later he received his 20th win in an 8-4 season opening victory over Lansing CC.  Green was quick to reach 50 wins as he reached the milestone in the second game of his third season. That same season he got his 75th win against MCHC foe Grand Valley State.

Under coach Green Davenports win total has increased every season starting with 19 in 2009, 29 in 2010, and 31 in 2011. Davenport has done well in conference play under Green as well. The Panthers have a 36-20 all-time record in the MCHC and are currently competing for their first regular season title with an 8-2 conference record. Next weekend the Panthers will take on Hope College who is currently sitting atop the MCHC standing with a perfect 10-0 record.
