GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Daniella Bugli scored one of the biggest goals in DU soccer history last week and the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) honored her as the Offensive Player of the Week. Bugli joins fellow Panther Ashley DeRuiter as the only two in school history to earn the honor. One free kick from 25 yards out from Daniella Bugli (Shelby, Mich.) sailed over the keeper's head that resulted in a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over #25 Madonna has given the Panthers a sweep of the first WHAC honors of the year. Bugli joins teammate Catherine Howard (Lowell, Mich.) who received the Defensive Player of the Week honor, as they helped DU to a perfect 2-0 week highlighted by the program's first ever win over a ranked opponent. Daniella, who also led DU to a 2-1 double-overtime win against Bethel, will lead the Panthers into their second WHAC contest of the year on Saturday when they take on Indiana Tech at 12:00 pm. |
