Grand Rapids, Mich. - Women's Lacrosse is a growing sport throughout the state of Michigan and you can come to join the fun right here in Grand Rapids as Davenport University will start a program this spring. The team, under the direction of Head Coach Stacy Faulkner, is very excited about the opportunity to play in the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) against teams such as Grand Valley State, Western Michigan, Calvin College and Ferris State University. The Panthers also have the privilege to play non-conference teams around the Great Lakes such as Adrian College, Ball State University and Wheaton College. Everyone (YES, Beginners WELCOME) who is interested in playing is encouraged to contact Stacy Faulkner at Stacy.Faulkner@Davenport.edu or come to the main campus of Davenport University in Caledonia Township for more information. The only equipment needed to play is a lacrosse stick, and you will likely be able to borrow a stick during the short while it will take you to fall in love with the sport. It is one of the fastest sports that you will play on two feet and Davenport women's lacrosse team is always looking for strong student athletes. Even if Davenport does not offer your particular sport but you love the idea of playing college level athletics then consider learning the game of lacrosse. |
