GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Recovering from a rare loss came relatively easy for the #2 ranked Lady Panthers as they downed visiting UM-Dearborn 92-64 on Wednesday night in the Student Center. DU is now 22-2 on the year and maintained their lead in the WHAC at 8-1.

After dropping their first game in over two months last week, Davenport got off to a slow start but used a big run towards the end of the first half to pull away from the short-handed Wolves.

UM Dearborn, playing with only six players, got hot from the start as they led the Lady Panthers 19-13 in the early going. DU then picked up their defensive pressure led by Kristi Boehm (Kent City,Mich.) who finished the first half with 12 points (4/6 from behind the arc) and 4 steals.

The lead would continue to grow in the early stages of the second half as DU upped their lead to 27 (62-35) just 5:30 in. Carrie Grubius (Kalamazoo, Mich.) notched seven of those points for DU and Leah Sevcik (Kewaunne, Wis.) chipped in with four.

Dearborn would keep things respectable midway through the half after DU built their largest lead of the game at 27 with just over 14 minutes to play as the Wolves used a 22-12 run to trail by only 17 with 7:32 on the clock forcing DU into a timeout.

The Lady Panthers responded though and pushed the lead back to 30 with back to back three-pointers from junior Kristi Boehm to put DU up 88-58 and eventually won by the final score of 92-64.

DU launched a season high 45 three-pointers on the night with Boehm connecting on six of them out of 12 attempts. The junior finished the night with 22 points, 8 assists and 9 steals. Also finding double-digits were Carrie Grubius with 13 while Kallie Benike (Campbellsport, Wis.) and Jeannie Closson (Parchment, Mich.) each chipped in with 10.

DU, which is now ranked #2 in the latest NAIA D2 poll, improved their overall record to 22-2 on the year and 8-1 in league action. Davenport will host Madonna University on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
