FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - In their first ever appearance at Sectionals, the Davenport Panthers came away with a 9th place finish on the women's side and an 11th place finish on the men's side. With all freshman gaining valuable experience, the future is bright for DU bowling. Davenport, which is in its inaugural season in Men's and Women's bowling, traveled to Illinois to try and finish among the top teams at Sectionals hoping to gain a bid to the National Championships. The Men were very consistent throughout the day and posted an 11th place finish which was just shy of qualifying them for the National Tournament while the women, led by Reba Wilke, posted a 10th place finish. Reba continued her outstanding season as she finished just 53 pins shy of making the individual tournament and ultimately placed 10th overall. The Panthers gained valuable experience throughout the season and have a solid foundation in place. |
