Game of the Week: Women's Soccer vs. Siena Heights

Davenport continues one of their best starts in school history after they opened WHAC play this past Saturday with a 3-0 win over WHAC newcomer Lawrence Tech. With an overall record of 8-2 Davenport has improved on their 7-3 record from last season for the most wins through 10 games. This week Davenport continues conference play with a match-up at #RV Siena Heights on Wednesday and a home game against Marygrove on Saturday.

With a 1-0 conference record the Panthers, who are receiving votes in the latest NAIA top 25 poll, are currently in second in the WHAC standings behind 2-0 Indiana Tech. The Saints are currently in third after falling to Indiana Tech 2-3 in their conference opener.

The Panthers come in trailing in the all-time series 1-9-2 but many of the games have been close and could have gone either way. Of Davenport's nine loses to the Saints, six of the loses have come by one goal or less and one in overtime. Davenport's last four loses to Siena Heights have come by one goal including losing in the WHAC Tournament Semifinals each of the last two seasons.

Davenport will be led by Lizzie Paul and Paige Eli. Lizzie leads the Panthers with seven goals on the season with Paige right on her heals with six goals. The pair are tied for the assist lead with six apiece. Michelle Marcus has been solid in net for Davenport all season leading them with a 8-2 record with a 0.86 goal against average and 30 saves.

Siena Heights comes in with a 6-2-1 overall record and a 1-1 record in conference play. After dropping their conference opener to Indiana Tech,  the Saints rebounded with a 3-0 win against Madonna.

Alexis Donnelly leads the Saints with five goals and is tied with Alessia Vagnini, who has four goals and four assists, for the most points on the team. Crystal Wilcoxen will get the start in net for the Saints. Crystal has made 25 saves on the season and owns a 0.84 goal against average.

Davenport Men's Player of the Week: Robert Kleiman, D1 Hockey

Robert is the Men's Athlete of the week after helping lead Davenport's ACHA D1 Hockey team to a pair of wins against Western Michigan this weekend. Kleiman, a sophomore transfer from Curry College, finished the weekend with two goals and five assists in the two games including a two goal and four assist game on Saturday.

Kleiman and the Panthers overwhelmed Western Michigan this past weekend with 11 goals in each game. Davenport will travel to Springfield, Ill. this weekend to take part in the ACHA D1 Hockey Showcase. The Panthers will take on North Dakota State, Central Oklahoma, and Illinois in there three games at the showcase.

Davenport Women's Player of the Week: Kelse Moon, Volleyball

Kelse is the DU Women's Athlete of the Week after leading her volleyball team to a perfect 4-0 week. Moon, a senior from Fremont, Mich., posted double-digit kills in three of the four matches and hit .269 on the week while finishing with 11, 11, 14 and 4 kills in the four Panther wins.

Moon is part of a team that has set a new school record for wins in a row as they enter this week riding a 10-match winning streak. She will lead Davenport into a critical league showdown on Wednesday when they travel to Northwestern Ohio to take on a Racer team that has won 18 matches in a row
